Love Runs Fear Off | Bible Study
Rev. Austin J. Young
Love Runs Fear Off | 1 John 4:16–18
Two words change how you read this passage. "Perfect" love isn't flawless love — the Greek word means complete, mature, grown all the way up. And "drives out" is a violent word: it means to throw outside, the same word family used for casting out demons. Love doesn't negotiate with fear. It puts it out.
This study closes our month on fear with the reason it finally leaves — not because you got braver, but because love finished its work.
