Sermon Replay | Living Like A Burning Bush

May 28, 2026

This powerful Pentecost message invites us to examine what it means to live as 'burning bushes' for God in our contemporary world. Drawing from Moses' encounter at Mount Horeb in Exodus 3, we're reminded that God used an ordinary bush—something Moses had probably walked past countless times—to capture his attention and redirect his life's purpose. The burning bush wasn't consumed by the flames, and this becomes our model for sustainable, Spirit-filled ministry. We're called to burn with fire—maintaining passion and the presence of God in our lives—while burning without consumption, meaning we don't burn out or become depleted. Finally, we must burn as God's vessels, making ourselves available for His purposes rather than our own agendas. The message challenges us to recognize the 'burning bushes' all around us today: injustice, inequality, health disparities, and moral crises that demand our attention and involvement. Just as Moses couldn't ignore the bush that kept burning, we can't ignore the issues God is highlighting for us to address. This isn't about emotional experiences alone, but about being filled with the Holy Spirit's power to transform our communities. The eternal flame at JFK's gravesite serves as a poignant illustration—we must become eternal flames for the Lord, never allowing the fire of God to go out in our hearts and churches.
