RESTORED AND STEADIED

Psalm 23:3–4 | 23 & Me: Deep Dive

What does it mean to trust the Shepherd when you are still in transit?

In Week 2 of our “23 & Me: Deep Dive” Bible study, Rev. Austin J. Young explores Psalm 23:3–4 and what it means to move through the valley with confidence. The valley is not our destination. It is a place we are passing through, and we do not travel through it alone.

David reminds us that the Lord is with us, carrying both a rod and a staff. The rod represents the Shepherd’s protection, while the staff represents His guidance, correction, and steadying presence. God does not always remove the valley, but He refuses to abandon us in it.

This lesson is for anyone living between where they have been and where God is leading them. Even when the path feels dark, uncertain, or dangerous, the Shepherd is close enough to protect you, guide you, and keep you moving.

You may be in the valley, but you are still in transit. The Shepherd is with you, and you will make it through.
